These galvanised backing rings are used behind compatible polyethylene stub flanges to create a bolted flange connection. The ring transfers the bolt load while the PE stub flange and selected gasket form the fluid seal.

Select the backing ring to suit both the PE stub flange and mating flange. DN size alone is not enough: confirm pressure class, bolt-circle drilling, outside diameter, thickness and corrosion exposure before ordering.

The backing ring is not a sealing gasket. Gasket, bolts, nuts and washers may be required separately. Align the flanges without forcing the pipework and tighten suitable fasteners evenly to the specified sequence and torque.
