Thread seal tape for threaded connections

PTFE thread seal tape helps seal compatible threaded plumbing and pipework joints. It is intended for threaded connections, not compression, push-fit or solvent-weld joints.

Selection and use

• Check that PTFE tape is suitable for the pipe material, thread form and service.
• Apply in the direction that allows the fitting to tighten without unwrapping the tape.
• Keep tape clear of the open end of the fitting so loose material does not enter the system.

For gas work, use a tape specifically approved for that service and follow the applicable installation regulations.
